The City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience is launching Climate Resilient ATL!
We are bringing together residents, businesses, youth and community leaders to shape strategies that advance sustainability, environmental justice, and climate resilience across Atlanta to inform the city’s first community-led and data driven, Climate Resilience Action Plan.
Climate Resilient ATL will serve as a long-term guide for protecting Atlanta’s neighborhoods from extreme weather, reducing environmental risks, and ensuring all residents - especially those most vulnerable to climate change - have a voice in shaping a climate resilient City Built for the Future.
To build upon Atlanta’s goal to achieve 100% clean energy by 2035, we are developing the city’s first Climate Resilience Action Plan. This plan “Climate Resilient ATL” will be our blueprint for building our capacity to prepare, respond and adapt to our city’s unique climate change impacts. The action plan will be based on a Climate Resilience Framework that is the result of 18 months of community input, research and planning in partnership with our Climate Resilience Advisory Board.
We are launching Climate Resilient ATL to build a more resilient and equitable Atlanta.
Climate Resilience is the capacity of communities to mitigate climate impacts while also adapting to climate perils through policies and actions that strengthen infrastructure, protect the environment, and invest in a more equitable future.
